Kristee

Writing- I wrote this one in about 20 minutes, it just flowed :) I know its corny, and really simple, but it was just a really random prompt from http://www.creative-writing-now.com/support-files/30_days_of_inspiration_.pdf I didn't stop the story about Janie, I'm just in the middle of it! Part 2 of Janie will most likely be posted tomorrow :)

Intro- Kristee, a 19 year old girl, has just gone through a terrible tragedy  Her father passed away. What is the one thing that can help her get through this? Love conquers all :)

Kristee
Kristee saw tears of sadness sailing down her mother’s face as they watched her father’s dead body lowered into the tomb. Kristee was devastated; her father was everything. Everything. She felt warm arms wrap around her waist, and she turned around and cried into her boyfriend Tony’s shoulder. He kissed her head, lovingly cuddling her while tears were falling down his face too. She looked up and smiled. Across the graveyard on the sidewalk a young girl was kissing a boy. Maybe it was her first kiss. First kisses brought joy. Oh, if only Kristee could have some joy, her life had been filled with sadness ever since her father passed on. The funeral ended and Kristee drove home with Tony, still crying. He dropped her off at her house, kissing her goodbye. Kristee walked into the house, flung off her coat, and ran to her bedroom, crying herself to sleep.

The next morning Kristee woke up to the fluttering of wings outside her window. She smiled. Finally, what she had been waiting for has arrived. She flung open her window, inviting the butterflies inside her butterfly sanctuary. Kristee had been taking care of butterflies ever since she was a young girl. She collected caterpillars and had them living in an adjacent box outside of her window. When they hatched, she would then let them come in and live in her bedroom. She ran downstairs; ready to tell her father what happened to her. Suddenly, she remembered. Her father was gone. The man, whom she had spent every minute of every day with, was gone. Her butterfly partner was gone. She fell to the floor crying. She then felt those warm arms wrap around her, and she looked up. That smiling face was looking down at her through his tears.
“I’ll never be happy again!” Kristee cried.
“Yes you will, babe.” Tony said soothingly, rubbing her back.
            “No I won’t!” Kristee shrieked.
“I know what will make you happy.” Tony replied. He pulled his arms from her and led her to the couch. “Close your eyes,” he instructed. Kristee did as she was told. “Okay, open.” Kristee opened her eyes and a smile found her face. Tony was down on one knee. “Kristee, my love, will you marry me?”
“Yes, one thousand times yes!” Kristee leaned down and kissed him, thankful. She had been mistaken; there was one thing that could conquer death and make her happy. That thing was love <3
